Free download for certified SVN binaries
Just last month WANdisco made certified Subversion 1.6.12 binaries available for free download . These certified Subversion binaries provide a complete, fully-tested version of Subversion based on the most recent stable release, including the latest fixes. The Open Source binaries undergo the same rigorous quality assurance processes that WANdisco uses for Enterprise products, which support the world's largest Subversion implementations with over 40,000 users, 2,500 repositories and 18 million transactions per day in a single implementation. You can register for free community support for WANdisco's Certified Subversion Binaries and customers combining these with a Subversion support contract have the added benefit of automated access to the latest fixes and updates. These binaries can also be used with many other software products.

What are our committers up to?
WANdisco's Subversion team has been busy preparing for the upcoming launch of Subversion 1.7 it's like putting several pieces of a jigsaw in place simultaneously. Production of the next generation working copy library continues apace while long-term core Subversion contributors, Julian Foad and Philip Martin are working with other committers to enable delivery of the last large remaining piece coalescing all metadata into a single database.
Meanwhile, we've been making additional improvements to JavaHL, the Java bindings to Apache Subversion, and working through various bug fixes. There are a number of improvements that are within our sights as we work towards the pre-release series and I look forward to explaining these in greater detail soon Hyrum Wright, Director of Open Source.

Supporting Western Digital
WANdisco was delighted to team up with Western Digital recently. The world's leader in external storage solutions signed up to our Subversion support to ensure a better quality of service. Western Digital are now benefitting from 24-by-7 online, email and phone support, as well as automated access to the latest fixes and upgrades from WANdisco. Backed by our senior Subversion development team, QA and support professionals based in the US and the UK, Western Digital (like all WANdisco Subversion support customers) have access to secure, high quality live support on a 24-by-7 basis, regardless of where they're located.
"Access to live support professionals and senior Subversion committers who can provide immediate fixes is critical when problems arise, said David Richards, President and CEO of WANdisco. That's why Western Digital and so many other organizations that want the same level of support available with commercial enterprise software switch to WANdisco."

Reinvesting in the community
A number of new, high caliber professionals have come on board with WANdisco in 2010 resulting from our commitment to reinvest the profits we receive from Subversion support contract sales to hire additional Subversion committers. We are dedicated to growing and nurturing the Subversion community, providing the features and resources that its users want and need.
One of our newest recruits is Erik Huelsmann, who joined WANdisco in June, having been an active contributor to the Subversion project since September 2003. Fluent in Dutch, German and English, Erik said: "The company has an incredibly talented team of senior committers, as well as customers with the largest Subversion implementations in the world. Based on their progress so far, I believe WANdisco's considerable resources and expertise will guarantee the continued success of the Subversion project."
